Most of the replacement radiators hold more coolant which would make them heavier. The radiator empty is not that heavy. Get a lightweight battery if you are looking to shave lbs under the hood.

aluminum is lighter than the copper radiator you'll find in the stock unit, however it is true that higher capacity means more weight,

I lost weight when i did this mod though because I got a radiator that replaced the two stock fans with a single thin spal fan, the weight of the stock fans is really surprising when you remove them,

so yes, there is weight to be saved

weight is in the detail

bigger rad, better cooling but fit titanium holders, slim-line fand and so on and you start to make up points again

wanna lose real weight, buy a carbon girlfriend!

Can you tell me what combination of radiator and fan I need to keep my 2.5 liter cool and AC working well and still drop at least 5 lbs?

Ok, If i go to the slim line fan and put a cooler thermostat and switch in it will my AC be a little cooler due to the slim line kicking on more often?

This is the truth, the fans are the fattest part on most cars cooling system... Plus they dont pull near as much air threw them as say a slim line.
