Default Rear view mirror camera?

Hey guys,
Have any of you put a rear view camera mirror in your S? I was considering it since blind spots with the top up are a little sketchy and a back up camera would be nice. I was thinking about this one: https://www.toguard.cc/products/togu...34820875354267 thanks

I have one. I like it. But i am going to have to velcro the corner to the window frame plastic. Adding the weight to the rearview arm causes it to move a lot on track.

I used a mirror from a 370z. Tbe ones with big wings had a camera monitor built in. Also has homelink and a compass. Compass has ornage letters which match our stock dash.

You can identify which mirrors have the monitor based on mirror on, which is often visible in photos on ebay, which is where you find them. I got mine for like $35. Have to be patient to find a good deal. Sellers often don't know mirror even has a monitor.

You'll have to change windshield mirror mount. This is tricky, as you can crack windshield.

This mirror is also a bit larger than our stock mirror.

There is a thread on which gentex mirrors have the monitor.

I have a backup/dash cam smart mirror thing and I like it well enough. It's good to have considering the small rear mirrors on these cars.

I don't really care for a backup camera... but, I'm more interested in a front end camera to record random crime, attacks, damage to car, etc.

I'm Asian (I'm sure there's a lot here), and a lot of attacks are happening daily these days.

Using a head unit with rear camera input ... seemed like the least invasive way to set up a backup camera.

I used a tag camera bracket and mounted the screen to Modifry's dash bracket
About $200.00 Took about 2 hrs. I looked at all the other options too. This by
far for me was the cheapest and easiest route to go.

There is an app that most of the backup cameras can use, that would display on your phone. I have a modifry bracket, with a wireless charger that also has a holder woth automated arms. A motor that moves arms that grab phone when placed into charger.

So it would have been ideal to use phone for backup camera monitor. Except stupid app has a fatal flaw. It doesn't automatically open when it detects camera is activated (which happens soon as you put car into reverse).

You have to manually open app every time you go into reverse. Maybe thats doable for backing outta driveway or parking space or something, but if you unexpectedly need reverse, you're not gonna have camera.

Plus I'm way too impatient to have to open app everytime I back out of a space, so it would never get used. App needs to auto open when camera activated, then it'd make an ideal monitor.

Mine comes on in reverse too, because its a dedicated monitor.

I only wish the mobile apps that allow your mobile device to act as the monitor would open on camera activation.
