Default rear wing install

I just bought a used OEM rear wing off craigslist. It has no install instructions but seems pretty straight forward. Past threads talk of a templete for drilling??,but the holes are marked on the underside of the trunk lid. Whats the templete for?? and is it harder than it looks?? I'm gonna replace the partly removed glued on rubber gasket with 3M double sided tape, use rubber washers top and bottom for leaks, paint the drill marks for rust, put it on snug the nuts, wax it up and call it a day. Am I missing something ??

Sounds about right. I think the template was for replica/afttermarket versions of the OEM with different attachment points. Not sure though...I didn't need one for my wing either.

I had done the install last year and you do need the template. The holes must be absolutely "almost" perfect. I suggest that you use a center hole punch, so the drill does not move all over the place. (start with a small bit and progressively move to a larger bit)

There is a link somewhere in this site were you can printout the template. (whoever posted this template is a life saver for people wanting to install a OEM wing purchased 2nd hand) Once the holes are done, then it's a breeze.

Good Luck!
