Default recommendation for air intake filter

Hello everyone

I am looking to buy a air intake filter for my s2000, Does anyone know about some good air intake that Increas the HP on my engine?

I thought about buying some INJEN intake but one of my friend that has a 08 civic si told me that AEM is better and now I'm confused.

Can someone please help me and tell me which one is the best buy?

Thanks for helpers

I went with the K&N and couldnt be happier. Though i have had AEM and Injen on my previous cars (Civic, RSX-S) and they too were good.

Just get an OEM unless you're wanting a whole aftermarket intake. Any other filter is just a waste of money IMO.

Whether for the whole intake or just the filter I recommend K&N. The whole intake makes a small difference (no intake will make a big one) is very high quality, is easy to install and wont hydrolock in the rain. The filter doesn't make a noticeably hp improvement but i did notice better mpg by 2 or so (had K&N filter in my stock intake before) and the reusability means you never buy another filter again, so you save money in the long run.

K&N, go buy an FIPK as a drop in is pointless.... or use oem filter as it was designed by the company that built our car

A different air filter won't make appreciable gains. Try reading any of the intake threads.

i disagree.
i noticed a slight difference when i put a Drop in K&N in my stock airbox.

throttle response at low RPMs were a little better.

A lot of people fail to realise that the K&N filter may increase MPG or throttle response slightly because it is flowing in more air. But the reason it is flowing in more air is because the filtration of the system is less than OEM.

Personally, I'd rather have a clean engine inside than gain better throttle response or MPG's. Use OEM. Best flow with the best filtration available for our cars. Just my .02.

As far as filtration, OEM > K&N
For flow, K&N > OEM

The 'hp' gain you'll see is completely negligible if you're comparing a clean OEM filter to a clean K&N. Any dyno you see comparing the K&N to OEM with more than 1hp difference is probably using a dirty OEM filter.

Personally, I would prefer to have a filter that filters well.
