so if it shines through too much, you will see the bulbs behind it correct? so its got to be like a thick transparent sheet? and how did you keep the sheet in place when you put it back in?

you can buy sheets. its polyester, transparent, and about 1-2mm thick. would something like this work?

the %T, i assume, is the transparency. the lower the transparency, the better.

But i guess the lower the transparency, the lighter it would be during the day time?

why is it, you can use a red filter, without changing the bulb, and it will show through, but if u use a blue or green its not likely to show through without changing the bulb?

yellow + blue = greenish

yes, but we need very wide angled LED
preferably 360degree, otherwise we'll have bright spots
