Just got red 75701-S2A-000ZE from the Hardtopguy. It measures as folks have said - 73 mm across at the widest. Very nice quality. Very happy with it. The hardtopguy continues to be a completely awesome vendor.
I have one question though. The pins on the ones we took off our 2003 AP1 were small round pins. The pins on the back of the new one are an X or + shape and they are wider than the pins. So, they won't fit into the receptacles in our car. So either I need to file the X narrower, cut off the X and rely on the tape alone (and more likely be crooked!) or see if there is a different version with round pins. Any one have any thoughts?
FYI, Jeff (the Hardtopguy) responded - and on a weekend, no less. He said to remove the receptacles in the trunk and the larger pins fit right in perfectly.
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but did you end up using those metal nuts on the bigger pins? Managed to get one on there but not all the way down...
not sure if they have the pins on the back though. I would prefer them so that it’s easy to centre the badge.
I typically put tape around the borders of the old badge before I remove it, helps a ton with positioning if you don't have pins. Cutting the pins off to fit badges is common on the trunk lid of 8th gen civics.
silver on red and silver on transparent are what they carry at my local honda dealership. i forget but i dont think it Cost me more than 20$.
I like to drive my del sol without a badge because i get all sorts of funny questions as to what it is. Alot of people think its an audi for some reason.
