Default Removing / Replacing The Gear Knob

Is this a simple job, I don't want to break anything. Any pdf guides on the net?

You loosen the tightening nut then unscrew the shift knob itself. If you don't have a tightening nut, just unscrew the shift knob.

Ok so I have just had a go with a wrench to try and unlock the nut that's holding the nob in place but the problem is it's so tight I am worried about actually breaking the gear level or the part underneath itself

Anyone had a similar problem? If I twist it as hard as I can it may loosen but the whole gear shaft may break?

Is it stock?

Doesn't the stock tightening nut have to be turned clockwise (versus teh intuitive counter clockwise) to actual become loose?

You just have to twist the lock nut on the bottom in the opposite direction as the shift knob is twisted on.
Very simple to do.
