Default How the hell do you remove the stock Shift knob ?

I have a titanium spun voodoo shift knob and wish to isntall it asap. Getting the stock shift knob removed is the problem. According to the instructions you should "Simply release the lock nut at the base of the stock shift knob. Unscrew (counter clockwise) the stock shift knob. Then remove the lock nut. Next screw on the new S2000 Voodoo Shift Knob".

I see a "nut" of sorts at the abse of the knob, but trying to loosen it seems impossible. I am scared of damaging the actual gear shaft by twisting too hard.

Help ?

Chris

Chris, your instructions are correct. I had to remove the shift knob to install Rick's console cover and my lock nut was tight as well. To release the lock nut, you need to turn it clockwise.

Don't worry, it'll break loose!
