I was tired of it rattling so I pulled mine off, and as for the road noise problem, i bought a dense king size pillow , put black pillow case on it and threw it on there, even better than stock FTW!
Awesome! I'm going to do this. Much cheaper/lighter weight vs dynamatting, and it'll cover the ugliness of the bare metal after the tray is removed.

Thanks for the idea. Plus if you need to put stuff back there, you can leave that pillow pretty much anywhere and not worry about it.

After I have been driving around for a week with this mod, I noticed my interior noise has lowered because the rear tray caused most of the noise in the first place. Top goes down flawlessly as well.

Ok I took my tray out yesterday since it rattled so bad. I went and got a full size black body pillow. It fit all the way across and back PERFECTLY. Like 75% of my rattles are gone. None caused from bass anymore. So great easy mod. No, not easy actually. It took me over an hour to get my damn tray out cause it was taken apart previously for some reason and all kinds of messed up where they rigged it back together but no matter lol. Thanks TRD_Celica
