Default Resinator question?

Monday im installing the invidia dual w/test pipe.

I dont want the car super loud, so I'm going to put on a resinator(straight thru design)

will it effect performance?

and

will it lower the noise if so, how much?

Thanks,

Marc

If you dont want it to be loud why did you buy an Invidia?

that reply helps a ton.

but i will answer your question

1. love the look
2. love the price

and I figured when i made the purchase that a resinator will quiet it down alot, if the sound was overkill.

Fair enough well at least you got the dual, that will be signifigantly quieter than my Invidia single. The Test pipe will help keep things quiet as long as your not WOT. Ive ridden in S's with the exhaust your getting and I didnt think it was very loud at all (as long as not at WOT) so I think you will like it the way it is
Now IF you think it is too loud. A resinator will quiet it down a bit, but may have adverse effects on your power output. good luck

resonator and affect, not resinator and effect....

but as you your answer, I would think that a resonator will quiet it down but it would also affect performance...adding anything between the entrance and the exit of your exhaust is just going to create restrictions....how much? I'm not sure, but it will definitely be more restricted than a straight pipe.

im just gna get it installed, the way it is... and if its too much.. then i will put a res on.

i dont mind it being loud under wot. the reason i got the test pipe is because it gets rid of 90% of the drone. and that is what i hate.

Plus, im just trying to aviod it being stupid loud under, lil load.

i want the beast to scream under wot. scare people lol

^lol, doesnt vtec do that enough already? even w. stock exhaust? i sort of dislike that actually..hahaha

if its gonna be that loud, i want it to be faster

you will lose performance slightly, but i doubt itll be noticable..

Someone here just replaced the Invidia resonator with one from vibrant performance and it supposedly killed the drone and quited the tone a little.
