A little deeper at best but you know it is there . Kinda a low key mod .

OK...for all who are asking...in the following link is a sound clip of my car with no resonator, and a PRM intake....the camera is by the exhaust though, so you cant really hear the intake....

Also, there are some pics of what it looks like after it is removed (just a straight pipe) but the albums are down for right now.....Im gonna see if we can make this sound clip a sticky!

Interesting, sounds like there's a raspy edge to it now instead of a smooth low burble. Hmmmm

While an old thread, this is a great modification and one I had done this afternoon. I located a master welder and exhaust expert who quickly removed the premuffler. A new piece of steel pipe was fitted over the rear Spoon brace and welded into place. A new hangar was welded and attached. Nothing had to be detached to allow a complete weld and perfect bead all the way around the pipes. The removed piece weighed about 6.5 lbs and with the added pipe the net savings was about 4 lbs - not much, but oh the sound! It's perfect; not too loud and just a bit lower in pitch. I don't have any dyno data but there is a JND in throttle response. When I arrived home I raised the car and sprayed the welds and pipe with hi-temp primer and flat black hi-temp grill paint. From my subjective view at this time, this is a very cheap ($35) mod that results in no power loss (some have reported a bit more hp) and a very unique and non-ricer exhaust note.
