Also I've tried doing reasearch online and have only been able to find feed back from back in the day no adds or " professionally" done reviews that's why I'm asking for your opinions thanks again...

The stock header is so good already that there's really just not much benefit from any of the aftermarket headers. In fact, many of the aftermarket headers actually reduce performance. I'm not sure where in the spectrum the Rick's header falls, but from what I remember, Rick was not able to get the gains that he wanted. The net change will really just be weight savings and bragging rights.

Thank you I appreciate that a lot , yeah I've been seeing a lot of ppl don't mess with the header thanks for taking the time to respond... So basically I should spend my money on something else lol

The ricks is a replica of the Mugen. Like the Mugen it can retain the OEM heat shield. The Ricks was modeled after the Ap1 Mugen header. Rick even said that this header should only be used on AP1 s2000s. For the price It's a good header considering the Mugen, js, and Hytech are 1000+.
Like Gernby and many others have said, the OEM header is very good. The most to gain from a header is a few WHP and some weight savings. If that seems worth it to you than go for it

Thanks I appreciate the answer yeah I think I'll stay with the oem ap1 header for now... Buy maybe later I'll get one once I'm more down the road with mods ...why is it only requested on ap1s because of the difference in the redline? Just curious...

After 13 years here I just picked up a header....and it's a Rick's. It is one of the few headers with proven gains across nearly the entire AP1 power band ( drops off in the very high RPM range). Dynos show 6 HP which was/is large considering the initial $599 price tag. Rick Hesel made a run of these Mugen knock offs with the intent on improvement at a much lower cost. He met several of his design goals.....it was an awesome effort and is clearly a part of the S2000 legacy (for those of use who have been here since time began). Gernby is correct, the OEM intake is great (reason I have had mine for 13 years), but if you have an AP1 and come across a Rick's.......consider yourself lucky.
