Default Robbin's Soft-top install

Hey guys,

So after years of letting my S2k sit. I decided to get it back into shape.

Last week I purchased a Robbin's soft-top and now debating on getting it installed by a shop or DIY. Since I'm getting my car touched-up by a shop, they quoted me $600. So I can save the dough or do it myself. Is it just tedious or difficult? Do you think i can do it myself? Pretty much, I can change brakes, swap coilover, and do basic bolt-ons. In the past I have swapped a b16a into a eg. Thanks in advance. G

someone cracked my back window a lil while back so i did a hack job just so i could drive the car, i plan on doing a soft replacement myself in the future, but yea ive read its really tedious, post pics if you decide to do it yourself, imo if youve swapped an engine before you should be able to swap a soft top but i dont have personal experience...i guess the question is do you want the headache?...to me $600 is worth it to do it myself.

I'm in the same position. $600 DIY or $1,100k for someone to do it.

Not gonna lie, it looks like a real bitch. Even with it being my 2nd car i'm still on the fence about my competency with that many details.

I say DIY. This way if it ever needs to be done again you will feel better about paying someone.

I did this on my S. I've rebuilt my motor twice and I have to say replacing the soft top is about just as time consuming (only a slight exaggeration). It is time consuming. They do have a step by step thread here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/448...a-robbins-top/

Could you do this by yourself? Ya... probably. But, would you want to? Not at all.

Pick up a few extra rivets with your rivet tool as well. You may need them.
