Default robbins soft top install...easy

I have a 2005 s2000. Soft top was trashed. I ordered a Robbins stay fast from auto tops direct.
I am a auto tech so I might have a little more experience than most but I found the top to be a straight forward install. It took 5 hours to install. This was my first one but I could cut it down to 3-4 hours. Auto tops direct supplied a great product. The only problem I had was I didn't get rivets but I only needed two. One for each side to attach the cables to the frame. All the threads I read on this install made me nervous. In the end I think the shops over charge for this job. It calls for 9.5 hours. I could do 2 in 9.5 hours.
Anyone thinking of doing this job them selves. Just do it. Its not hard. Take pictures along the way for a reference

You are a God among men. I hated installing my Robbins but love how much better my S looks now.

I love the look. The only part I didn't like was the interior package tray and side trim where the top lays when down. I would do them all day long

Don't get me wrong I'm not bragging. I'm wanting others to attempt the repair them selves.

Did you end up using the directions found on here? The directions that come with the top are useless unless something has changed on their end.

Also, I just would like the say that it can be done with one person. I would not advise it, but it can be done. Having a second person or even third will make a tremendous difference.

The only part I felt was a pain doing the soft top was the rear rain guard section. I used an EZ-ON top. Definitely worth doing it yourself with all the money saved!

Is it really that easy?

I've been on the fence about doing mine. There is a s2k member not far from me that installs them (many in the North Texas forum have used him) that I had considered using.

I would not mind saving some $$.......
