Robbins top w/defrost on '01 AP1
The installer says that an uber-expensive control module (or some such) is required in order to regulate the defroster temperature.
I'm sure the defrost for this top has been made functional on early AP1's, looking for suggestions/solutions, or confirmation that it is indeed impractical/expensive to make it work.
I can live without it, but if I'd known that in advance I would have ordered the part without the defrost, pretty stupid to have it in the glass but non-functional.
Thanks!

you will need the defrost kit . it listed here for $179. you can try to look for it used or other place that have them for cheaper.

or you can try to DIY , make the harness from an 02-03 to fit.
The 00-01 has a blank spot on the right side of the steering wheel. Part number for that defrost button is 35500-S2A-A01 and you might need the bulb and amber cap, 36776-S2A-003 and 36776-S2A-003. next thing to do is install the defroster relay, sub harness 32204-S2A-010 and 32119-S2A-000, fuse and any other harness needed.
