Default ap1 rack fit on ap2!

Hi, Finally real response on ap1 rack fittment on ap2!! I have a 2005 ap2 and today i swap ap1 rack for a more direct feel, beside that i dont find any real feedback if it can do, i try it successfully! I install 2001 ap1 rack with the torque sensor (beside that i dont know if i really need it but it come with the rack!!) Reality: it is a direct fit, no need to change esp and no need to reprogram anything, just labor (2.1 hrs to my dealership) and alignment!! It is a real direct fit and i install spoon rigid bushing kit with S2000 C/R stiffener. Initial impression, good upgrade but not so big that i remember for my old 2000 ap1. price of the rack: 315$ plus labor and alignement!! Have a nice day S2k fans!!!

2004-2005 is a direct bolt-in swap with all AP1 steering racks.

2006-2009 requires the CR steering rack because of VSA.

After 3 day running my new ap1 set-up, the biggest improvement is really more direct on center improvement, no ap2 death spot in straight line, little movement has a big impact, finally it is a good upgrade for precision fanatic!!!

The only problem is that you need to really know that your donnor car is a real ap1 because the part number on the rack (a sticker) is the same number than an ap2 and it is absolutely not the oem dealer part number and the dealer can tell tou how to differenciate an ap1 rack to an ap2!! (remember that an ap1 is 2.4 turn left to right and an ap2 is 2.6 and ap1 have a ratio of 13.8 to 1 vs ap2 14.9 to 1.
