Default Running DRL at Full?

Hello all,

I just got some PIAA Super Yellow H1 bulbs for my high beam. I was wondering if there is a way to run the DRL (day time running lights) at full high beam instead of half wattage so the yellow can stand out more instead of that dull bs.

Any help is apprecaited.

Thanks in advance.!

You're going to have to buy something with a higher kelvin level to run it doing yellow @ half power. Is it really running @ half power or less?

thats not what hes saying. he wants to basically have his hi beams on all day so his PIAAs will use the power thats used for hi beam and not DRL

OP just flip on your hi beams

I think the high beams wouldn't be constantly on unless you turn on the park lights.

The high beams wont go on full power unless you have the low beams on.

Like I know can flip the switch and the high beams will go on, but it stays on only when the low beam is on. Otherwise its off. Can you guys clarify again how do I just "flip the switch?" I dont want to be running low beam in the daytime.

I gotta try that parking light thing though ..

But my point is 06-up have the nasty half wattage DRL (which is the high beam at half wattage) and I would rather have it yellow. The PIAA does not show up unless its full high beam.

Thanks again guys.

Which is what I'm saying. I got 5500k for DRLs and it still shows up a little yellow because it's running @ half power. That just means I have to get a higher kelvin to have the DRLs look like the same color as the low beams.

Ehhhh. The drl is the halogen highbeam, not the HID. There must be a relay activated to use the lower current, just trace the relay and re-route it to the higher current lead, or figure out how they lowered the current and bypass it with a full 12v.

But as far as the law goes, you are nuts to be driving around with the brights on all the time, they will blind oncoming traffic.
