Thumbs up RX7 tt ?

kay i guy i work with was thinking of getting an s2k and i told him i had one and was getting a turbo put on soon. but what he told me was crazy. i was told that u could put a RX7 tt engine in it for like 2g with 40,000 miles on it and it would work it that even possible. would it be better then buying a turbo for like 4g or more

... rotorarys break down quite a bit. Many rotory owners can deal with it, because they are able to rebuild their engines in just a few hours from all the experience. You will be MUCH better off boosting your current engine. I have never seen a 13b in an s2k, but I really don't know why you would want to do that. I'm willing to bet that the 13b is ALOT heavier than the f20a to begin with.

if 'your friend' can find someone to do a complete engine swap (including price of motor, too?) for 2,000 dollars, then run away. just turbo the engine that's already in the car.. I just posted a link with a 700 HP S2000, stock motor+turbo+1,000 PSI of boost.. .... I'm just kidding about the 1,000 PSI BTW.

Your coworker may be a slow adult. Be wary of his advice.

Peter Griffin would swap a rotary into an S2000. He too is slow.

13B without turbos and with flywheel is just over 200 pounds. The rotary is very light.

I'd rather have an LS1 anyway. In fact, I DID have one and it was great.

Silly...why would I buy a motor that needs rebuilds twice as often as our forged internal motor?
