S2000 CR shift knob
i just got the 08 ctr shift knob from gotuning.. same as the cr except it has red lettering instead of yellow. very nice, i thought it was gona be big but i went to honda and sat in the cr and it's not big at all. it feels really nice.
[QUOTE=mister x,Feb 7 2008, 10:38 PM] The OEM AP1/AP2 knobs have leather trim, the CR just a plain spun aluminum ball which accounts for the price difference. Diameter wise, the CR is about 1 7/8", the OEM is 1 11/16" at it's widest point but 2 3/8" tall.
I absolutely despise the shape of the OEM and OEM Ti knobs, they are seemingly made for children's hands, which doesn't make sense at all. I suggest the spun SS knob that Grendel has for sale in the for sale forum. It weighs in at over 1 lb and feels awesome when shifting.

AP1 has the lob-shaped knob made from aluminum (very light)
AP2 has the lob-shaped knob made from aluminum with steel-core and leather trim (quite heavy)

AP1 standard knob is identical to the AP2 knob. Both are quite heavy and both are wrapped in a leather band (Ishould know since my AP1 came with one).
The early AP1s had a option for a non-leather wrapped knob, but it is essentially still the same thing.
All S2000s had the option of a naked Ti knob that was even heavier, but very pricey.
The CR knob is a round spun aluminum knob with a yellow shift pattern on top. I have no idea how much it weighs since i have never held one.

Early AP1s came with the aluminum knob without the leather standard. The leather wrapped came out later. I know because I wanted one.
I don't believe the leather wrapped one came out till '02.
