Default S2000 Mugen Exhaust System Install Help!

Hey Fellow S2Ki Members, I'm hoping somebody is able to help me out with this one because I'm seriously scratching my head figuring out where this exhaust hanger brackets is suppose to get installed to! I've searched and searched but wasn't able to find any kind of DIY guide (most exhaust installs are pretty straight forward anyway) but I wasn't able to find any scans of the original instructions either.

I picked up a second hand Mugen cat-back exhaust system for AP1 (the original Titanium mufflers version) and it came with a few exhaust hangers on it and including this one here which had this bracket:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I have absolutely no idea where I'm suppose to mount this bracket and its exhaust hanger, it looks like it should be fitted to right hand side (looking from the rear) or otherwise passenger side for the U.S members

So I'm left with one side lining up nicely in the bumper cavity (driver side) and the other side sitting closer to the cut out of the bumper so assuming this bracket and hanger gets installed somewhere on that side, I just have absolutely no idea where it needs to go so if any Mugen exhaust owners out there can clue me in I'd really appreciate it.

Should be 2 on each can, and one on the resonator. That's how it was on my ap1 mugen exhaust. That looks like the rear hanger/bracket for a single exhaust. But the one I had on my ASM looked nothing close to that. I don't think you should worry about it. Total of 5 hangers is what you should have

Thanks rydelow, I pretty much just carried over the original rubber hangers from the stock exhaust over and they all fit up fine but just like I mentioned, the one side of the exhaust is sitting off center to the bumper cut out whilst the left hand side sits perfectly. It's almost as if the right hand side needs to be pulled over more and when you try to adjust the hangers it pulls itself straight back to where it was which got my thinking that this bracket must have made it shorter for the rubber hanger to mount to somewhere on that side.

Hmmm anyway it may have just been a left over hanger from something else the guy threw in with the system maybe because the rubber hanger itself was a bit different to the OEM ones from the stock exhaust, still looked the same but had 3 holes instead of 2.

sounds like you have a ap2. I have a ap2 also, but I bought ap1 hangers from the dealership. But ap2 hangers work also.

Yes the mugen ap1 doesn't fit centered with a ap2 bumper. It's not that noticeable unless you really look at it. There's another thread on here where a member hd the same problem.

I've got a 2000's model AP1 so looks like I might have have to see if I can move the hangers around a little bit to make it sit a bit better. Was just curious to know if the bracket pictured was something that people got as part of the Mugen exhaust system kit when new.

Given the location of the mounting hole it doesn't look like much of a "hanger" - whatever might be fitted over it would likely slip off over time.
