Default S2000 Parts Needed!

I live in Cyprus and last year I purchased a beautiful bright yellow S2000.

It's a great car & I've had lots of fun with it but I have decided to move back to the UK early next year & so unfortunately the s2000 has to go

In July I started advertising the car in papers and car magazines but due to the recession I got very little interest. The price I am asking is reasonable and the car is immaculate so I thought maybe putting it in a car dealers showroom may be a good idea. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!

I gave my immaculate & gorgeous car to a car dealer to try and sell for me and within 2 hours they had crashed it!

The accident happened at 8pm in the evening and I was not made aware of the accident until 11am the next day when a body shop phoned me to inform me my car was at the garage looking rather sorry for itself.....

I thought I was being wound up by my friends and didn't believe them at first, when I discovered that it was no joke, I went ballistic, understandably! The garage didn't bother contacting me for 2 days & when I finally spoke to the p*@%k who crashed my car he didn't even apologise and told me he was taken to hospital which is why he never phoned!

I went to the police and they informed me that it was not his fault (the fact that he had been drifting my car round a roundabout at considerable speed was neither here nor there!) and that a lady crashed into the side of him so her insurance were going to pay for the damage.

At least the insurance were going to pay up and my car was going to be completely re-sprayed and made to look even better than it was to begin with......

That was mid July- it's now nearly end of October & I'M STILL WAITING FOR IT TO BE FIXED!!!!

I have been offered no compensation or even a hire car by the insurance company so I am now taking legal action against them to try and get some compensation for having to wait so long.

The body shop have messed me around to such a degree that I am now taking it upon myself to order the bloody parts myself.

All the parts I need are for the rear left side of the car. The insurance will not pay more than 3500 Euros in total which means I don't have enough money to order new parts from Honda. I will need used parts for a 1999 model.

Can anyone help me?!?!

Wow I feel really bad for you. I would want revenge on those people at the dealership. I hope everything works out for you.

If it was the US, I'd go after the dealership. He had no reason to be joy-riding around in your car. Even if the other person hit him, the driver is still responsible for damaging your car.

You'd probably own that dealership by now around here

Of course had it been me, the guy that wrecked it would be BACK in the hospital, and I'd be locked up.

No idea what legal options you have in Cyprus. Here, the dealership/driver would certainly be on the hook. Definitely not a happy sitution.

As far as the rear side of the car, your options are limited. Unlike the front fenders, the body panel behind the door is part of the unibody frame...meaning it doesn't simply unbolt and get replaced. You may be able to find suspension parts from a totalled car, but I think you'll want something local (parts are heavy and difficult to ship).

Hey guys, thanks for all your replies.

I've managed to find a breakers yard who seem to have all the bits I need, just getting shipping quotes now. I've got a budget from the insurance company so with the extra money left over I'll hopefully get a new roof, seats and a few other bits to tart it up so I will have the best possible chance of selling it once I get it back. Started dreaming about lambo door style conversions and bodykits...

Either that or I'll try and get the extra cash back from the insurance company- does anyone know if this is possible??

With regard to the guy at the garage who crashed my car, i've spoken to lawyers already and they said that I gave him the keys & technically it wasn't classed as his fault as it was the other driver who drove into him & we're claiming off her insurance.
As much as I'd like to have him done over, he's from Russia and theres a huge russian mafia over here which I don't fancy getting on the wrong side of!....

I'd find a different body shop because the one you are dealing with is probably going to do a crappy job.

If possible try to get compensated for diminished value from the other person's insurance.
