you gotta respect miatas QuagmireS2k or no one will respect you.. lol anyways i have a hardtop and yes its expensive but it makes your car feel more solid and refined. much better than the homeless rag soft top. soft tops are best with the top down on sunny days. Get one before they stop making it..!

I didn't see him "disrespect" a Miata. If you want to pay Miata prices for a hardtop then the S probably is the wrong car for you -- unless you happen to know of some $900 hardtops for the S (with hardware).

I assume a used OEM S2K hardtop is hard to find.
...also easily answered with a search. If you're not having luck with the s2ki search then try a Google search. You can restrict it to s2ki by adding "site:www.s2ki.com" to your keywords.

Well I guess I'm learning something about the "culture" here. I ask a simple question and get schoolmarm librarians scolding me to search the forum that has like 1,000,000,000,000 threads in it.

Then I say that like $4000 to $6000 completely installed is a lot for a hardtop, and one guy who doesn't know me insults my driving skills, and another cops an attitude about Miata race cars.

I'll stick with trackHQ and the SoCal S2K community. There sure are a lot of trolls on this site.

You gotta understand man, The same questions get answered over and over and over again, It gets old. All the info you could ever need is on the site, just take a few minutes to search and just read, not everything is gonna be spoon fed to you. I know there are lots of thread about the topic(hence why i said things get asked and answered over and over again), but I bet you will find what you are looking for in those threads.

The culture could be said to be getting worse and worse, simply because more and more people can afford the car. Nothng elitist about it, its just the truth. The site now, compared to 3 yrs ago, has changed alot!

You'll soon see that all s2000 parts are expensive

If you want a good deal, your just gonna have to search and wait. I got my oem hardtop with fresh paint for 1900 with all hardware(granted it was from a friend) but still, he was selling for 2200. Deals can be had, just gonna have to wait it out.

4-6k would be a real mugen hardtop(5-6k will be CF)

I dont see anyone insulting your driving skills, just saying that there are other routes to take towards a track car(improving driving is always a good thing, unless you are a pro driver and didn't tell us?)

Its a webforum, dont take things too serious all the time, there is alot of good info on the site and alot of good members

+1. I'll be the first to admit that the search here sucks, but all I did was type in "hardtop" and the link I gave you was on the first page.

Is this a track only car? If you can sell the convertible top assembly it will help offset the cost. I found an OEM top with hardware for $1900, deals are out there just keep your eyes open. You might consider a replica Mugen top with lexan window if you are trying to save maximum weight.

I just got a good deal on a hardtop. You pretty much need to browse the fs forum for a couple months. The ones for sale for 2500-2600 stay up for a while...the ones for sale for 1900-2100 (with hardware) go fast.

I never disrespected any car. Every car is great in it's own way. Although some cars are more expensive to mod it's like stepping up from an S2000 to NSX. Then me complaining parts are to expensive.

I mostly post in the Socal Forum as well. Although you can't things to heart on the main forum.

You can find used OEM for a little 2,000.
