^shouldn't cost that much. I had a PPG gearbox in my WRX and it was definitely under $5000. Now you can get one fully done for closer to $4000.

I could see how a sequential would be really helpful on a track if it had more gears, but I don't see how it would be much of an improvement with just 6.

How many passenger cars do you know of that have a manual transmission with more than 6 gears?

Faster shifting, less power drop between gears and made to last race after race.

As a fun fact we use the same gearboxes on the street for 600hp as the rally/track guys use for 200hp. And they kill them all the time, impossible to compare racing and street driving.

To be honest I don't think this tranny is good for turbo but probably perfect for N/A.

I know of exactly the same many as I do for sequential gear boxes in passenger cars. ZERO.

I asked the question because I don't think there would be more than 1 second improvement per lap just from quicker shifting.

1-2 second consistently faster lap times add up after a few laps

1 second is a pretty big difference

I'm not saying that 1 second per lap isn't significant, but there are LOTS of things that will shave more than that for less than $10K. It seems like a "high hanging fruit".
