Most didn't copy, they just hired and paid the royalties to the same UK based company that came up with the tech. It's not actually 100% from VW, they were just the first on the boat due to the Veyron.

to a $10k swap that's likely illegal for his class and is likely to hinder the car just as much as help it.

Quaife does have a stand alone gear indicator but I'm just using the gear position sensor and Motec ADL for displaying gear position.
