Nice option. I chose to use alan head screws with lock tight on the thread and filled the head with silicone. They can be removed with a set of vise grips and some elbow grease but it definitely makes it a lot harder for the thief. The screws I used are a lot stronger than the ones in this thread.

A garage certainly isn't any guarantee of theft prevention either (neither is the popular suggestion of a hard top, etc). Spend some time searching/reading right here. There are certainly people who have had seats and more stolen from their garage.
10 seconds is an extreme exaggeration as well. Please post a video if you can actually remove 4 of these with Vise Grips in 10 seconds.

^ makes you wonder how safe those bolts are at keeping the seat in place during an accident.

Another instance where it’s clear that these were never designed to withstand even minimal amounts of force. Makes sense since these were meant to hold center caps onto wheels that are most likely aluminum (won’t be subject to much torque or shear stress). In a car wreck, inertia is going to be a bitch to these!

Fk it, I'll torque down one on the front and rear of each seat. I can't wait indefinitely for Kodokan to respond.
I decided on the gorilla ones...they seem slightly more robust and only $9 on amazon.
