Default Sell or scrap a blown engine?

Many years back I purchased an S2K that, unbeknownst to me, had spun a thrust bearing. The crank walked, the vtec solenoid got stuck, and who know what other damage took place. As luck would have it I had purchased a warranty and got a dealer to install a new engine. The old engine has been sitting on a crate in my garage for around 10 years. It's an AP2 and only had around 30k miles on it.

Is it worth trying to sell or just take it somewhere to scrap the aluminum?

The cylinder head might be mostly okay?

I'd think about someone who builds them for a living to look at what is good. I second the head being a good possibility.

We used the head on the new engine that was swapped in.

Is there maybe 200 pounds of aluminum in a F22C1 engine block and head? Aluminum scrap cans are getting roughly 50¢/pound or $100 for the engine parts -- I'm guessing that would be for clean parts not a junk engine.

If the block is salvageable it would be worth a lot more. eBay asking prices are several thousand dollars.

If the crank journals are ok, you could sell the bare block. Many of us have sent off a block to be sleeved/built by shops like Inline Pro. Cylinder wall condition doesn't really matter in a case like this.
