Default Setting up VAFCII

I recently got the VAFC II for only $200. including the harness. And I also have the ultimate e-manage from greddy, but waiting for the cables. meanwhile I want to use the VAFC II.

I don't have a dyno, or a wideband sensor to test the car myself...But the car has only a cold air intake AEM V2 and test pipe. What can I do with it, did anyone use it with those settings? Engine is F20C2.

I think the only part I'm concerned with is Wide throttle.. from 3000-9000 RPM, what % should I add at each point say I have..3000-3500-4000-4500-5000-5500-6000-6500-7000-7500-8000-8300-8500-8700-9000

I don't want to have the optimum yet... just to try it tomorrow, any estimate suggestions ?

on mine for NA:

3000-6000 = 12.9
6000-8000 = 12.5
8000-9000 = 12.0

this is with the 255 lph fuel pump in and the afr's are quite rich at WOT, dipping in the 11s, don't know how much or if the fuel pump is affecting what WOT would be if 100% oem.

whoops, misread your post, you just want to use the vafc2 for the interim but you don't have a wideband nor will you use a dyno. pretty much all you can do is drop vtec down a little, nothing drastic as you can't check afr's. you'll need a wideband to selftune, the cost to dynotune a piggyback is probably more than the cost of a wideband. the vafc is only good for lowering vtec and trimming fuel, can't add fuel or alter timing.

I can't add fuel ? How do they claim VAFC II can give you 5-10 WHP ? Can it be done by only trimming ?

I don't want the maximum HP I can get, but I'm sure there are a lot of guys who set it up and benefited a little having CAI and testpipe only ...

I would like to know their setup... mainly the Wide throttle settings.

Anyone?!?!

I remember seeing a post a while ago where someone posted all their AFR numbers using the VAFC, and a bunch of people used the same set up with good results. I'm considering buying a VAFCII as I have I/H/E/HFC and would like to really see the gains of these mods, but I don't have access to a dyno.

Never ever use anybody else's setting this is stupid and not every car is the same, you run the risk of running too lean (hence melted pistons).

AFR shouldnt really go over 13.2 in WOT.

How much different are they really ?!? is a setup for an S2000 F20C with CAI and test pipe very different from another S2000 F20C with CAI and test pipe, that can cause engine damage??!?!

Step1. Through away the vafc. Step2. Use the emanage.

The end.

Its upto you, how do you know 'x' guys tune's his car wasnt using x, y and z what the temperature was, if he's running it lean, its just not worth it - as i say every car is different.

The VAFC2 isnt as bad as everyone makes out, people say it rubbish because it doesnt have the ability to tune ignition timing and partial throttle (truth is there aint alot of scope on the ign side).

You can only tune it for WOT, truth is it doesnt learn in WOT (because you make no adjustments in partial throttle and in WOT it doesnt modify any fuel trims only refers to LTFT).

Its not the best, but for what you pay for it.

Our cars run rich. Leaning it out is where most of the power's made.
