Shift Boot Adapter
Has anyone ever used a shift boot adapter or "collar" before? I'm not too thrilled about the way the stock shift boot sags down...

Pop your console up and with the shift knob still on pull upwards until the boot looks like it's try to squeeze it's way over the shift knob then take a ziptie and put it around the shifter right below the knob and make sure it's tight. Pop everything back into place and problem solved. It won't move either. I've had mine like that for months without it ever coming loose. I also always hated the way the boot just sagged.
I know longer have the shift knob but you can see how the boot sits up on it.

lol i just bought the rick's leather boot and a blox 490 spherical knob... i'd still like to see what a "collar" would look like on the shifter though. i'll probably go to home depot to experiment with some rubber grommets or threaded washers (if something lke that even exists).

i actually tried my friend's shift boot adapter tonight. it does a great job of preventing the oem boot from sagging down... i will need a zip tie or an o-ring securing it from underneath to keep it from moving up though. i even had room to put the oem locknut on top of the collar.
i know i'm being picky but i'd like a small gap between the bottom of the knob and the top of the boot. this way, i can pretty much hold/shift the spherical knob from different angles, etc. without the boot getting in the way.
will snap a picture of it in a little bit.
