i pulled up the center console to do my stereo and the boot comes up with it on my AP2. pull up the top section of the console beginning by sliding your fingers under the leather elbow pad and working forward. the clips are plastic, but i pulled pretty freakin hard and didnt damage em at all.

i have never done the job, just tellin you what i saw from the underside when i pulled up the console.

it isnt bad, i got it up first try no problem and then it is pretty idiot proof to snap it back down in place.

Go here:

Install is for an AP1 - but basically the same.

Just note that on the AP2 there ARE different screw sizes, so note that as you remove them.

VERY easy install. GL.

dang, i wish i had found that when i did a boot swap. we have the same MY06. so the directions are the same but we have some different screws. there is one screw i think under the roof switch, you have to remove the roof switch to get to it. and there are 3 other screws you have to get to before that ring comes off.

on the boot, i just took of the old black stitching and replaced it with red, and i think it looks awesome.
