I *just* did a beautiful Rick's shift boot (black, perforated with red stitch). I'm talking like an hour ago.

The instructions must have been AP1 (or just earlier cars), my '07 didn't have those plastic "melt rivets" like Rick described (my Vette boot actually had those, had to epoxy the ring back in place). This just slipped right off and on! I also cleaned up the grunge that gets down in the switches (just pulled 'em out).

13mm nut on the shifter, unscrew the knob, remove nut, snap off, remove 3 harness clips (top, defroster, hazards), remove console, two screws at the back, release tabs, remove old boot ... reverse. Literally 30 minutes at the most.

If you remove the one harness from the center console it gives you a little more room to maneuver the console. Also pull your e-brake up hard for more access.

I can shoot a pic of the final result if anyone is interested.

That black shift boot with red stitching looks sick with your red interior! Do you have the all red interior or the 2-tone red/black one? Do you have any more pics of your interior?

It's the 2-tone black/red, so the boot works great where it's mostly black. I'm definitely doing to get the console in the same perf/black/red-stitch, really nice HQ pieces (I scored this one bought, but not installed).

I don't have any other interior shots - I recently did some SSR's, springs, etc., so I have a few exterior here (one shows the black/red door panels): https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry16154409

Thanks for the comments, I'm def diggin' on how the car is coming together!

The carbon type material is really slick. I had a few pieces [using it] on my Z06 - if you ever do a carbon bezel/console, etc., it will blend really nice too.
