Default Shift knobs?

Hey all I am new to this car and was looking for a different shift knob. I love the car its amazing but only thing I am not gelling with is the factory AP1 shift knob. Its like just a small aluminum stem kinda deal and to be honest I don't find it very nice to use. Its a pretty knob to look at but thats it. I shift properly with palm and fingers not fist etc. I see that it seems to be made for this exact type of shifting but it just still isn't very comfortable to use. I have had quite a few BMWs in the past and this is my first Japanese sports car. The BMWs have kinda like a cross between a pistol grip and ball that I would usually swap out for a ball knob.

I just am looking for something a little more comfortable in the hand. I don't rest my hand on it while driving but the stock one is just not very comfy to use at all for lack of a better description. I find it almost intentionally uncomfortable to use like Honda is telling you to keep your hand off it LOL.

I saw Modifications knobs but most seem out of stock? Are they not made anymore? What are my other choices?

Thanks

Moddiction knobs are great. Countersunk, weighted and comfortable. They are still made, you just have to wait for a new batch to be made.
Rick's Voodoo knob is another good one. I ran one of these for years before switching it out for a heavier moddiction piece.

Never personally used one, but TWM seems to have a wide variety of round shift knobs.

Technically, you're not supposed to rest your hand on the shifter of any manual car. The danger there is the slight, unintentional pressure you put on the shift forks. Kind of like resting your foot on a clutch pedal.

Try the S2000 CR shift knob or the FN2/FD2 chassis Civic Type R shift knob. Look on eBay or ricks2k.com or hardtopguy.com. Those are my favorite factory shift knobs. They're round ball knobs. The S2000 CR knob is slightly larger diameter. The CTR knobs are slightly smaller, have red lettering, and have a dropdown to clip the CTR shift boot onto.

The S2000 CR knob will sit a little lower than the CTR knob.

There are also a bevy of aftermarket round knobs.

I prefer the feel and height of the S2000 CR knob.

Here's the FN2 CTR knob Im using in my TSX.

The S2000 CR knob is similar. A little fatter/lower and with yellow lettering.

If driven in cold weather, I do use a 99cent glove to place over the knob lol.

Still pretty happy with my Blox 490 Sphere knob after 3 years of owning it (was the first mod I did to the car). If I ever got something else though I'd try to find something countersunk so I could make the shift boot sit just a little cleaner.

Still, for a $60 knob I think it looks freaking great.
