Default Shifter Trim

I'm looking to pick up a new trim around the shifter boot. The chrome on mine is cracking. Anyone know where to pick up an OEM one? Are there any alternatives that might look better?

Thanks!

Yeah man mine looks horrible and i wanna get a new one too. Theres a sponsor on here called www.burtmanindustries.com and they sell aluminum trim dash kits for the entire dash that include the shifter trim. Its a bit expensive but i heard its real nice, i plan on picking one up soon. They also have carbon fiber if thats your thing.

Unfortunately Honda lists the center console as one part number and doesn't break out the individual pieces (the last time I saw). If you look from the underside of it the shift boot, cupholder and armrest are all riveted into place. Later years ('02+) have them bolted in for easier swaps.

Here is a trick we did a few years back for the MY00-01 cars.....

Take some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball and rub the shifter trim clean of the top/clear coat that you see all scratched up and cracking. You'll reveal a nice shiny semi-polished surface underneath and have a fresh look. One drawback I found was that it is easy to get fingerprints on it later and I was constantly wiping it clean. However you get a nice looking trim ring for cheap.

p.s. To me those aftermarket dash trim kits look sooooo cheap. Always glued on top of existing pieces - the cheese.

Thanks. Unfortunately it's chipped all the way to the plastic. I agree about the aftermarket dash trim kits. I may just have to sand the trim down and repaint it.

Thanks guys.
