I just have to chime in here. You can lower the shift shaft, lower the knob, or both. I recently received my countersunk knob from Moddiction and it is awesome. I run the stock shaft and new Moddiction countersunk knob and am very happy. I also have the third Ti Voodoo Bob Krueger knob made for our cars. I've been through a lot of shift set ups over the years. I'd love to try Randy's (I.e. Moddiction) short shifter but my poor experience with the piece of crap Axial (I.e. Richard) put out leaves me focusing on other areas of the car. My Axial sits in all it's glory in a box. It's only claim to fame being the only mod in ten years to fail entry into service on the car due to poor engineering. While I can't vouch for their shifter I can vouch for Moddiction and their business-thanks Randy!

on Miata i put short shifter.
i like it.
but all the rest club memeber hated it - it required more precision and more effort.

S2k's oem shifetr is as short is my Miata's short one.
so i decided not to try to make it even shorter.

i've got Moddiction knob and it makes shift throw shorter.
i actually raised it a bit from its lowest position to INCREASE throw a bit.

it's still shorter and requires less effort than stock.

i got a moddiction shifter w/extension and 1lb ball...didnt think it would make a difference, but i was wrong. its pretty amazing it seems to be more precise and i dunno somehow more fun. Ive had a couple people get a before and after feel, all were impressed. Just try it or find someone with one, its really the only way to judge this kind of product imo.

Nay, get a counter sunk shift knob and it doesn't get any better, if you would get a short shifter it would be simply a flick of the wrist to shift gears.

Plus i have driven alot of cars but the S2000 shifter, that comes stock, is short and smooth as f@#k.

I enjoy the shifting on the S2000, but it seems a little too high which for me would cause the rpms to drop a little. What I ended up doing what countersinking the stock knob roughly 1/2 to 3/4" and I find it made a big difference for shifting smoother and not as long throws.

I just have the Moddiction countersunk, weighted knob, and it's perfect for my needs.
