Default Silver dashboard bezel

I was considering getting the silver dashboard bezel for my NFR AP2, but can't really find too many close up pics of it and was wondering what people thought about it. Is it an OEM part? I can only seem to find it used on eBay for $70 shipped, so if anyone else knows where I can find it for cheaper, that would be great. Also, what's the install process like? Thanks.

Honda switched to a silvery-grey plastic for a couple years - 02-03 I believe. It doesn't look bad but I prefer the black personally.

On all models or just certain colors? I think I'll stick to all black since I won't get to see it in person before purchasing it.

All models for those years. It was a refresh before the new interior design debuted in 04.

The black bezel looks so much more classier. I had the silver bezel originally, and it didn't look awful, but it didn't flow right with the interior. I switched mine out only because it was scored up, which was a perfect excuse to upgrade to the AP2 bezel.

$70 is about as cheap as they go. I paid $80 for mine including all the switches.

if you upgrade to silver bezel, you need to do radio door as well. Also probably polish the shifter surround if its starting to go. Had these done in my 00 by previous owner and I thought it was oem til later on

Highly subjective (the word "cheap" clearly indicates that). You'd need to look at one. No one can tell you if you'll think it looks cheap or not.

I like the look of the silver. I have seen it in person. It would look great in an 04-05 car with the silver radio door and cup holder cover.

It does look great...when new. It's a painted part; the plastic is black underneath.

As to the silver radio door...it's not the same finish. It flows about as well with the silver door as a black/blue/red/tan one (the colors available in 02-03). It doesn't clash, but I wouldn't say it flows better, either.

It gets stained and scored pretty quickly, and looks like @ss after about 2 years. Interior cleaners accelerate this.

It only comes on 02-03 cars. On my 02, I went to the black AP2 cluster last year...definitely worth it. I was going to do the silver again, but decided against it as I wanted something more permanent. The black is an improvement anyway, even versus a new silver one. I still have my "silver" one, and maybe you could refinish it...willing to sell it cheap if you want it.

Install is pretty easy, though you need to drop the steering column...4 bolts, remove 2 loosen 2 and the wheel will drop enough for you to pull the cluster surround out. Put the AC/Radio controls in the new one and push it in...easy.
