just installed my skunk2 exhaust. It's custom 2.5 inch pipe after the cat no resonator it Sounds awesome but after 4k rpm it's almost stock. WHY??

 

Because the sound is being drowned out by all the blood in your ears.

Seriously though, it probably doesn't sound stock at all, but instead the noise becomes less evident above above 4k. 3-4k RPM is the 'drone zone' with after market exhausts for our cars.

Post a video, but I bet it's still plenty loud.

 

Yep after driving around all day you're exactly right lol I'm about to order a test pipe, I don't mind the loudness but the drone is insane lol

 

Test pipe will probably make the drone more "tinny." Ricer exhausts are all like this.
