Default Some question about kw v3 installation

i just installed kw v3's and had a pretty generic questions.

First, wouldn't lowering and raising the car by twisting the lower purple color collar change the preload depending on how high or low you go?? Because raising the collar seems to bind the spring closer together and vise versa. (twisting the color down=less preload, Twisting the collar up=more preload)

Is there some recommended preload setting that i was suppose set it to? If there is wouldnt this all change once the start to adjust height?

Basically i want to know the proper way to adjust the height on these coilovers.
Any input would be appreciated!!

Unfortunetly you bought a coilover that doesn't have an independent hight/preload adjustment. So the more you lower your car, the less suspension travel you will have as well as adjustability to a degree with your pre load set up. Thats why these coilovers have the extra small spring incorporated, to keep the main spring seated when the car is lowered and under droop of the wheel when lifted. It may require you to be a little more creative in your adjustments, def. will have to make some compromises. I run BC race spec, they are fully independent ride hight/spring pre load and suspension stroke. You can slam the car if you want and still get the same susp travel as well as any pre load setting you want, in my opinion a much better choice for your money if you want to be fast and safe. Is it too late to take them back?
