Default SOS science of speed VS Password JDM Hood dampers

This is the first MS motoring spirit CRITIQ
I purchased the S with the password JDM dampers already installed.

The dampers rubbed against the inside of the fender and hood: *OUCH*

The PWJDM dampers also had some crap hardware that accumulated tons of RUST and deterioration! (This car was from OK and TX and only 4 years old)
The welds were crap and the ball joints were also crap!

Now... I had to rescue this with some SOS dampers!

These are nice!!! and the hardware looks first class!

HOWEVER!! They are not perfect!! The hood opens up a lot! This is useful! However, if they just reduced it by a few degrees they would prevent this from happening!

The corner of the hood rubs against the molding when fully open!

Conclusion:

PasswordJDM hood dampers: 0/10 I can not recommend these! They damage the car and I just can't respect an aftermarket manufacturer that produces parts that would damage a car!

SOS hood dampers: 9/10 These are nice! but the rubbing resulting from the extreme open angle of the hood shouldn't be there. It is OK because people aren't opening their hoods everyday, but should of been looked at when designing this product! They dampen just enough so the hood closes properly and stays up in the open position.

This has been a MS motoring spirit CRITIQ!

* I am not affiliated with SOS or PWJDM(obvioiusly)

Nice to see some honest reviews I'd like some hood dampers but not a fan of anything that causes any damage, including the molding, so I'll just wait...

Only negative I've run into is the dampers that open all the way up will scratch the wiper blades if turned on in this position. But now that you know that, I'm sure you will never let this happen. The wide open hood does have some obvious advantages.

I just ordered SOS dampers to replace my failed NRG ones. NRG cost less, but I guess you get what you pay for. Mine failed after 9 months of moderate to little use.

I recently made the switch from PWJDM to SOS and I experienced the same problems. Inferior build quality and materials on PWJDM marred my hood and engine bay. Never noticed the molding issue before, I try not to make it a habit to open my SOS props all the way and will keep an eye out to any problems with my SOS. After seeing what those props did to my old car I ponied up the extra coin, I hope I'm not disappointed.
