Default spark plugs IK22G

I know some people say that they fail. And to to buy the NGKs they are made in the same plant I believe NGK relabels the Denso plugs.

I have a 2004 which the stock plug is a Denso double plat not iridium.

Can any one help me on deciding a plug to buy???

Also a good place to buy them

thanks

Larry

this is the stock info right from honda

98079-571CH 004 004 SPARK PLUG (PK22PR-L11S) (DENSO)

Where do you live? What mods do you have? What type of driving do you typically do?

If you live in a warm-ish climate, and have many bolt-ons or a tune, and don't do a lot of very short driving cycles, then you'd be better off getting IK24 instead, since they are 1 step colder.

Live in new England my drive to work is 18 miles. I have fipk and think I'll be getting q300 dual very soon. Want a little more sound but want it quite on trips or high way. I have 3 inch straight pipes on my bike lol

while they are the best performing plug in terms of design, the tiny center electrode scares me, and has been a source of failure on some engines causing internal damage. It may never happen to you but there is a chance. I prefer and run the NGK Iridiums as the center electrode is thicker, a bit less performance but better piece of mind IMO.

BTW, Denso and NGK plugs are nothing alike in terms of design, they have not been for years, and I wouldn't think they would come out of the same factory.

I have NGK iridiums, no problems. Love them. Do not buy them at the stealership, they wanted 25 per plug. Got the exact same plug ordered at Advance Auto for 10 per plug.

ok from advanced auto website

NGK Irdium
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wc...MS_775184251___

Denso Irdium
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wc...S_1154255205___

NGK Plat
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wc...MS_542731105___

From looking at the pictures of the NGK and Denso they look to have the same tip. The tip is what has failed on people. I'm thinking to just play it say and get the double plat.
