Default spoon / j's racing air duct

I am back to the drawing board on the intake was gonna get an ARC but after all the negative reviews ive seen my next option is the spoon/j's racing air duct and get my stock airbox back and get rid of my cold air so here's the question, since my car is a daily driver will rain or water suck up in the duct and what kinds gains you get if any ive heard it does since COLD AIR is coming in rather than the ARC that sits in front of the block also by chance do you have a performance filter in the airbox...HELP A FELLOW S2K GUY OUT I LEAVE IT TO THE COMMUINTY

You can rest assure that the snorkel type air duct provided by Spoon or J's will not suck up any water.

I've got the j's snorkle and I can't be more happier. I met you this past saturday with my friend norris in austin. I drove the lbp s2, but anyways coming from arc, the stock box with snorkle just feels so much better.

i have heard that the stock box with a new drop in filter like a k&n with the snorkel is a great mod and well worth it

ok so I guess I have another dumbass question....do you need an after market bumber or hood to fit this intake, cut the hood whatso ever because I have an ap2 bumber with a seibon cf hood on a ap1 would this be a direct fit for the above or do I need a j's bumber or something crazy

No after market bumper or hood is required though it might rub on the hood slightly, but it will fit without any modifications (both the spoon and J's)

no major difference for the snorkel...i never had a real spoon snorkel but the ebay one just looks the same if put next each other..its just that the spoon looks reallly high quality and has better detail but as far as performance gaining is concern it shud be the same, but ebay snorkel will save u more cash to buy something else or take ur significant other for nice dinner...

there is a cooling plate with some cut outs for the snorkel, just post to want to buy section and im sure someone will hit u up. but if u are quite handy with doing things ur own but one without the cutouts nd just cut them, i did on mine, and it looks good, and i have fun doing things on my own...

as far as intake is concern u will have no major gains to them for the s2000, if u want to do the best mod on ur car...go with some final gears and u can keep evrything else stock if u desire, just lower it if u havnt yet.

good luck

I wish and want to do the gears, but lack of funds, time, and extra car is my factor and i dont know to many people hear that would do a "swap" if you call it that out here in austin on top of the labor charges so im guess around 1500 for total labor and charges not to mention i have to get that yellow box to get things calibrated so im just poor but want so much

OK since all of you ppl are talking about the J's racing and spoon air duct. I was just wondering... What if you have the J's Racing Type S bumper and you want the airduck that can be attached to the bumper.. What kinda air duct is that? Or there is only one type of air duct? Please let me know

Thanks

David.

*A picture would be great* =)
