Default Spoon rear view mirror installed, question

So I slapped on the spoon rear view mirror on top of the OEM mirror, and I noticed the little tab under the OEM mirror, like a switch that I can flip toward me or away from me. Couldn't figure out what it was for, is it some type of locking device? I tried ti wiggle the mirror off in both positions and didn't seem like it was unlocking/locking at all. Any ideas?

Do you have pics of the Spoon mirror and a quick installation run down? Is it double sided tape or do you remove the OEM mirror?

The rear view mirror comes with 3 pieces of double sided tapes on the back already. a small piece close to both edges, and a big piece in the middle of the back. All you do is pill them off and stick it over the OEM mirror. I didn't even get the suction cup that supposed to come with it. Since the mirror is not flat, they don't fit exactly like a lock and key to the surface of the OEM. They sticks a little bit out, but nothing that major. If you include the time to open that box and take it out, the whole installation maybe like 2 mins.

If you are talking about the side mirrors, you should remove the OEM and replace that way.

Just a heads up for everyone who installs this as well. Be sure to press on the side pieces of double sided tape lightly first before pushing on the middle one. Since the mirror is convex, pushing too hard on the center can cause the mirror to crack.

Just be careful with the install! My 0.2 cents.

Yes, I have this mirror installed as well and absolutely LOVE it! The blue tinting in it really reduces the glare from assfags in big trucks who love to travel with high beams on. Also the mirror also has a wider viewing angle so it helps reduce the blind spots. Best $45 mod you will ever get for this car with a spoon sticker!

Even without high beams they can be blinding. I went the autodimming mirror approach. I wish the side mirrors dimmed as well though.

You mean the Gentex? Those look really nice but I wonder how they would perform...
