Default Spoon snorkel install

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a Spoon style snorkel and I did some searching around the forums and couldn't find an exact answer. The install was fairly straight forward but for some reason, I can't get the hood to close properly, or at least for it to not hit the snorkel. So far, I've adjusted the hood latch as high as I can but it still hits the snorkel. Another thing that really bugs me is the fact that the driver side of the hood won't close completely and isn't flush like how it used to. There's about 1/4 inch gap now. What else can I do to prevent it from hitting the hood? (And I would like to avoid grinding my hood if possible)

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Unfortunately, cutting the underside of your hood is probably the best way to go. It is just because you're wanting to avoid doing irreversible mods to your OEM parts? Because you could always find another stock silver hood to use.

Ah yes, that's also what another S2ki member just told me. There's not many options you can go about with other than getting a CF hood like the Mugen style or Spoon hood. And there's also cutting the OEM hood down. Originally, yes, I would prefer not to damage my OEM parts, but now i'm reconsidering since cutting down the hood doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal. Would all you have to do is grind down the underside and that's it?

have you tried adjusting the rubber stoppers? you can turn them to adjust the heights/gaps.

If you decide to cut the hood, you can find a template for it. There's no grinding, you have to cut out a rectangle.
