Springs and alignment
I plan on purchasing a set of swift sport springs. Now I know anytime you alter suspention an alignment is required. My question is how bad will my alignment be out with swift springs? Could i still drive the car without killing my tires, or will it need to be fixed asap. I also hear that to get the correct honda spec alignment for an s2000 is something most shops can't do. Thanks for any information
i dropped mine on Neuspeed springs, and thought everything was running pretty sweet - i took it to a fella that came recommended just to be sure. When he was finished, it felt like i had gained about 20hp! - well worth it, not just for the life of the tyres, but for the possible efficencies that may come with it. Do it.
when you install springs, you need to allow time for the springs to settle. i waited 2 weeks after i installed my eibach's before i got an alignment. 1 week should be fine. my alignment wasn't terribly off to warrant not driving the car.
don't know about shops not being able to align the s2000, only reason i can think of is that the car is too low to get on their alignment racks. all the locals here go to a shop that has a "hunter" alignment setup so there is no need to drive up any ramps.
