Default Started my E-TUNE today....

I was a bit skeptical about doing this but having read numerous positive reviews and just receiving my base calibration I am no longer a skeptic. What a difference in just the base calibration. I am looking forward to the end result . Anyone considering doing this I believe it is a worth while mod to do.

How many calibrations did you go through before you felt it was right. You are also running a header and intake which I have yet to to add I can only imagine the difference. Very nice!

i think mine is not a good indication because it looks like Flashpro is not that straightforward with Euro cars.
we already found 2 bugs in the software...

and i went with another vendor.
6th-7th started to feel really good and smooth.

Takes a lot of knowledge/experience to do this. I'd still personally take it to a tuner though.

I'm just finishing up an E-tune now and am happy with it. We are on the 6th calibration now and more or less done according to Jeff. By the 2nd or 3rd he was 90% there. The rest is just fine tuning fuel trim and smoothing out full throttle A/F ratios.

Power is definitely WAY up over the stock tune. It feels like a new car. Whereas previously you had to wait until 6000rpms for the party to start, now there is just a nice, linear pull straight to redline. It also sounds like an absolute monster. With an AEM CAI, Q300 exhaust and HFC the sound is very loud and very mean. The VTEC snarl now starts at 3600rpms instead of 6000rpms, which means I'm spending a lot more time with VTEC engaged. With the mods I have now, it's about as loud as I would want it, realistically.

I originally tried to schedule a dyno tune, but the tuner in my area is flaky and I was never able to get anything scheduled (his fault, I tried). Because of this I decided on an e-tune. I'm sure the dyno tune would probably be a small bit better in terms of power, but I got close enough for $200. A dyno tune would have cost me $350. Another consideration was my extremely hectic work schedule. I would have to take 1/2 a vacation day from work just to go into the shop to get a dyno tune. With an E-tune, I can run the datalogs on my way to work in the morning and not have to use any time off.

Jeff is super quick with turnaround. After you send him datalogs, he will usually have you an updated calibration within 12 hours. So basically after one week I've got a fully tuned car. Overall this is a great service that I can fully recommend.

H22toF20, I agree with you taking it to a tuner is better but finding a good tuner is the problem. Evans seems to have a lot of experience e-tuning most everything Ive read on here has been positive.

Started the second calibration today car seems a bit better. Part throttle is improved. Full throttle is a little smoother still sluggish down low. When datalogging the first calibration yesterday full throttle was sluggish down low vtec window is set at 3600-5300 I am sure this will be moved up as things progress. More datalogging today.

I remember my initial calibration being pretty sluggish. I think Jeff starts off with very rich (conservative) A/F ratios, which hurts power. From there he leans things up a bit until more optimal levels are reached.

He started me off at 3600-5300 VTEC window and hasn't changed it throughout the tuning process. I just received my 6th calibration today (haven't loaded it yet) and the car feels fantastic.

Good to hear you are happy with the end result . I totally hear you on the hectic schedule I would be in the same boat having to take time off work and not to mention the higher cost for dyno time.

He was able to keep you down a 3600 for your vtec engagement, wow! He commented on this calibration I'm on right now that it looks like he will be raising my vtec engagement point. Maybe since you have an AEM intake you are able to be down that low.

On to the third calibration VTEC moved to 5400 rpm just cant go any lower with the resonated TP or HFC. Looks like a header is in my future and another tune. Things are starting to feel much smoother. More datalogs and onto the next..
