Default Steering Wheel Replacement Recommendations

I'm in the mood to replace my 21 year old steering wheel in my AP1. I'm looking for any recommendations the group may have.

Vivid Racing offers one for $600 (after core charge is refunded) that seems similar to others I've seen over the years. Has anyone purchased their steering wheel?

https://www.vividracing.com/honda-s2...152563150.html

I'm not necessarily committed to a carbon fiber model, but these seems to be the most popular I've run across from various suppliers. Open to any any all recommendations.

Thanks!

You can find a mint RSX steering wheel which is essentially a direct replacement for half that.

I assume you're looking to retain your airbag?

There is a guy in uk that will recover your wheel. He does thicker than stock rim.

Iirc, username rocketwires

He will also source a local used wheel as a donor, so you don't have to pay shipping your donor. Then you can sell your old wheel locally, for hopefully what he charges for supplying a donor.

Guardian Motorsports was making them for a while, website shows them as sold out now but if you email them they will likely work with you. I bought mine from them a few years ago, customized the order for all alcantara, stitching, D-ring, blah blah blah, they also give you the option to customize the thickness of the steering wheel padding too (most vendors making custom steering wheels will offer this).

Very very very friendly people to work with, they are very accomodating and very helpful, I can't say enough good things about them, I would not hesitate to go back to them again, and the wheel came out exactly how I wanted, feels fantastic. One of the best purchases you can make for you car as it is something you feel and interact with for the entire driving experience.

You can also get a shifter boot to match, leather, alcantara, stitching etc. Again can't say enough good things about these guys. Not a paid advertiser, just a really happy customer.

I was just thinking of picking a used OEM and making it thicker. Are the airbags the same for both AP1 and AP2?

UK company that is member here, rocketwires, does them. Thicker wheel. He will buy a local wheel to refurb, so you don't have to pay shipping yours. Then you can sell your old ome locally.

Tbe airbags are not the same. Different front design, different electrical connector.

But I believe the basic wheel is the same. Stock leather covering is different.
