stock exhaust price?
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to gauge interest and get an idea of the price point for a stock ap2 exhaust. This is by no means a for sale ad, I'm just trying to get some information about what they usually go for to get an idea of what I could possibly sell for.
The exhaust has about 75k miles on it, normal cosmetic wear, tips still intact and undamaged. The reason I want to know is because I bought an Invidia exhaust and installed it, and now my stock exhaust is just sitting in my garage.
Anybody know a decent price to sell this for? I don't want to rip anyone off, and I also don't want to be lowballed. I was thinking maybe in the $150-200 range? Would this be reasonable?

Go to Majestic Honda's online parts order page and look it up. You can see the whole system and all the parts with cost.As for what its worth, cant tell ya but I wouldn't buy a used exhaust for more than half the price of new, and that would have to be an exhaust in really good condition.

At some point, there were a lot of stock exhausts out there people wanted to get rid of - they went aftermarket, and the stock part was just taking up garage room. Prices were from free to eighty bucks. This is despite a new one being $703 MSRP. These days however, like S2000s themselves, there's fewer and fewer of them. So maybe $100 and up is the new price.
You can only know its true value if you offer it for sale and somebody pays money for it. So offer it for what you'd like to get, don't be surprised if nobody bites at first, and adjust your price down until you either find a buyer, or you'd rather just keep it for future use.

$50. $100 if you find someone desperate or a sucker.
Unless you NEED the space, or HATE looking at it, I'd just hold onto it incase you wanna sell the car and flip the aftermarket exhaust.

Throughout the years I have tried selling multiple exhausts with no luck. I tried selling 2 ap1's for 20 with no luck. Gave one to a friend with a del sol who cut off one of the mufflers and had it welded on his exhaust, and I threw the other in the garbage (gave someone the tips). I recently bought an ap2 exhaust locally (just for the tips) for 20.
If you can get more, power to you, just don't get your hopes up. On a side note, there is one on Craigslist right now (has been there about 4 months) and the guy is asking 300- it makes me laugh.
