Default suggestions for rad cap and tstat?

I want to replace the mishimoto cap on my radiator and replace my tstat. Any suggestions on brands? J's cap? J's tstat? Mugen tstat? Spoon?

mugen ones are pretty popular and not too terrible on the wallet.

If your radiator has enough cooling capacity, then you really are better off with the stock thermostat and fan switch. Cold coolant reduces power and efficiency.

One thing to note is that the later AP2 thermostats are stamped with a higher temp rating than the earlier thermostats. You might find that replacing your stock thermostat with an '08 AP2 stat might give you some power.

I see, but it's still just a bandaid. If you are sure that your radiator isn't providing enough cooling, then you can bandaid it with a colder thermostat, but it is not ideal. Just know that colder thermostats only lower the minimum coolant temp NOT the peak coolant temp, and might just give you an extra couple minutes of track time before achieving the same temp that it would with any other thermostat.
