Swapping 01 ecu with 03...immobilizer?

Default Swapping 01 ecu with 03...immobilizer?

so i read up on doin the ecu swap but now i see something about if i do the direct swap the car wont start because of some immobilizer chip in the key or something? can somebody please fill me in on this i searched around but didnt get much info. i dont want to buy this ecu then have to take it to honda or something and pay a crap load to get my old keys programed with it.

its about 100 bucks to get the key programmed to the ecu your using with your car. Some dealerships do it for cheaper or even free.

ya talk to them before hand...make some friends there and let them know what your planning. by the sounds of it...it doesnt take them very long to reprgram it

takes them 10 min. i got it done. Good difference at low rpm

Part throttle response below 4k. I noticed it as soon as i left the stealership. Taking off from a light the car doesnt hesitate anymore.

i'll be doing this mod shortly (once i get an exhaust problem taken care of). I'm also going to do a back to back dyno comparison of the 01 to 03 ecu if there's interest. I started a thread about it in the UTH subforum.

ya im hoping honda doesnt decide to rape me on getting this thing programmed. im prob gona drive it up there and hook up the ecu while im there
