Swapping AP1 Seats into AP2 With Occupant Classification Sensor (0'7 S2000)
Hi all!
It's been a few year since I have owned my S2000's, I am currently on my 4th, '07 Luguna Blue - anyhow thanks for reading. The AP2 seats in the car has tears, (how exciting), and I want to replace both driver and passenger side seats. I now have my daughter and I want to ensure the Occupant Classification Sensor is working as it should. I read a few threads on this. From my readings it appears you have to perform a rail swap from the AP2 seats, to the AP1 seats. Here are my questions:
1.) Do you only have to swap the rails from the AP2 seats to the AP1 seats?
2.) Are there any re-calibrations which are required?
3.) The T25 bits used to removed the fasteners have broke on people. Would anyone recommend using a heat gun for this process? Iv noticed these are security type T25, (meaning the center of the bit needs to have a hole inside of it).
Thanks for all your help ^_^,
Cheers Eathen

The short answer is yes, you can swap AP1 seats into your 2007. I have 2003 seats in my 2006.
You will need to swap the entire seat bracket and not just the rails, the driver's seat is the easiest by far. The passenger seat bracket is made different in the 2006+ cars so you will need to swap even more parts to get the mechanism to work. The hardest part to swap is the outside bracket on the rear seat section of the passenger seat because the bolts are behind the cover, they can be removed with time an patience though. Luckily the passenger seat from both vintages weigh about the same so getting the sensors re-calibrated did not need to happen in my case. Good luck, nice project!

Has anyone that's swapped an 00-05 seat into an 06+ car noticed if the angle of the bottom part of the seat changes with AP2 brackets and rails? I notice that on 06+ the front of the seat under the knees is raised slightly higher than the AP1 seats, or the rear under the glutes is dropped lower giving the same effect. I'd like to know if this is due to the rails and brackets or the seat itself.
