Default T1R 70R-EM Sparrow Dual Exhaust vs. Greddy SE

I need some help deciding on which exhaust to buy. I have done searches, and read about every post regarding these two exhausts. The one thing I have not read is a comparison of the two. I think they are very comparable. My criteria for comparison is price, power, sound, and looks. Price is in favor of the Greddy right off the bat. I know sound and looks are more of a personal preference, but I would like to hear others opinions. I was always dead set on the T1r-70R-EM, but the Greddy is beautiful, and costs quite a bit less now. The EM is up to $1475, and the Greddy I have seen between $950-1175. Build quality is going to be top notch from both systems. The tips on the EM are a little small for the AP2 bumper opening, but I do like the down turn, and if I want to, I could weld the stock AP2 tips on for a truly stealth look. I like an exhaust that is some what understated looking.

Where I am coming from; I have an Invidia V3 70mm. It was on my car when I bought it, so I have been stuck with it. I hate the looks, and the drone. I love the raw unfiltered sound. Giving the car 30-60% throttle right up to around vtec produces an amazing sound in my mind. It is awesome. WOT is awesome and is perfect when driving the car hard in the mountains or on the track. Problem is, it drones all the time, and there is really no way to drive the car, and keep it quiet.

I want to stick with a dual 70mm system. I want to eliminate droning, but keep a race car like sound, when driven hard. If so desired, I want to be able to drive in stealth mode and not turn heads when cruising by at slow speeds.

I am afraid the Greddy is going to be to quite though. I want the system to be quite, if I want it to be, and loud when I want it to be, if that makes sense.

I don't believe the Greddy is 70mm throughout. Where it splits it goes down to 60mm piping. The EM is 70mm throughout and this exhaust probably makes some of the best gains out there but in my opinion it is ugly as hell with those tips. I contemplated this exhaust but it was to loud for my taste although pretty quite considering it is 70mm. I don't care to modify the tips on a 1500.00 exhaust. Had the Greddy been out when I purchased the Fuji I would have bought it instead or maybe not I love the sound of the Fuji plenty loud for me.

Hmm i have the same problem i want the T1R sparrow it sounds good not sure on the look and it keeps the dual look which i like. Now i am trying to decide which one i think the T1R would get better performance seeing its 70mm through the hole exaust. And i think it weighs less which helps a little. But for me its between the dual T1R or the single the single wieghs around 9 ponds and dual wieghs in at 35pounds that is all most 20 pounds. Which i am not sure how much that would help, i just love the dual look.

Power wise we are only talking a few HP, which is not going to make a huge difference. The weight aspect does not affect the decision much either. It is a street car, not a race car, so saving 20lbs to me is not a big deal. I could drink less beer and make up that difference.

I do agree, not sure that I actually want to have to modify tips on a $1500 exhaust to make it exactly what I want.

I am hoping to get some opinions from people that have heard both, or have driven both. Probably not going to happen though.

I wonder if adding a test pipe to the Greddy will make up for the lost power, and give it a little more sound. I am sure it will help in both cases.

I've always loved the EM.

Sounds like you'd be happier making your own exhaust system. Order the cans, the resonator, and weld them on the new piping

Somehow burnt SS tips dont look as nice as real Ti tips. Might take that into consideration. The blue isn't as dark or something. Maybe its just the picture
