Default T1R resonated pipe to remove rasp?

I am using a test pipe with my asm header and exhaust. It sounds great until I let off the gas which results in a lot of rasp.

Will the T1R resonated test pipe remove this, or should I buy a hfc?

Thanks

The resonator or HFC will remove a little of the rasp. Either way your going to have it. I would go for the resonator. Just this guy though. Good Luck!

I know the invidia q300 has quite a bit of rasp with a test pipe, and has basically none if you have the OEM cat or a HFC. So I would just say get a Berk HFC, that way most of it is gone, and plus you won't have any test pipe smell or soot on the bumper anymore.

This is a good question. I was thinking about the same thing but for the drone. I have the Megan single, and a T1R test pipe, but by switching to the resonated one, do you think that will reduce the drone a bit?

^ Switching to a resonated TP may make the exhaust a tad bit quieter, but I highly doubt it will do much for the drone. It may help a little, but probably won't even be noticable. A test pipe makes an exhaust louder, but actually reduces drone.

Personnal experience? I'm having this issue with my Q300 combined with t/p. Tried the oem cat, like the sound but hate the restriction. I was just thinking about getting a Berk hfc.

Not personal experience, but confirmed by multiple q300 owners on this site. The first exhaust I ever wanted for my S was the q300 since it ws 70mm and didn't drone much, but the rasp with the test pipe is what killed it. Over the years i've been here i've read, and talked to guys with theirs and they said a HFC cured most of the raspiness. So yeah if you got a Berk 70mm HFC it would free up quite a bit of power, and keep away most of the raspiness.

Thanks for the info. Very much appreciated.
Any idea where I can get a good deal on it?

No problem. I'm pretty sure the only place you can get them is directly through Berk. If you PM'ed them on here maybe they will give you a slight s2ki member discount like some vendors here do.

Berk's website has them, as well as Evasive Motorsports.
